King Henry's Bible : MS Bodley 277 : the revised version of the Wyclif Bibl

This fourth and final volume of the edition of MS Bodley 277 gives the text of the New Testament. It is similar to the previous volumes, presenting numerous cases of revised readings (additions and/or omissions, transpositions, and substitutions). Again we may think of the role of the reviser and the nature of the text he was coping. By closely comparing the two versions (virtually integrating them) it is possible to see how the reviser worked: though in the main basing his text on the earlier version, he frequently adopts readings from the earlier version, thus creating a whole text combining old and new material with some finishing touches.
