This doctoral dissertation in Digital Representation explores the specificity of the artistic experience of a VR arts play, a new kind of play at the crossover of several art forms and computer games. What appears as the most unique aspect of the audience experience is the opportunity to discover fictive worlds and characters that cannot be represented by other means than through an immersive virtual reality medium, so that actorspectators become physically immersed on stage.
