Jere Aalto, Anne Broe Kristensen, Cian Burke, and David Magnusson attended the international MFA Programme in photography at Valand Academy in Gothenburg, Sweden, between 2015 and 2017. The programme s aim is to foster critical awareness and knowledge-in-action , where a dialogical approach is central. One of the goals within this, is to deepen the understanding of photography and explore the creative possibilities of the medium. Through conversations with the acclaimed Swedish artist Annika von Hausswolff, the four young photographers share their thoughts on their own work. The discussions touch on certain interests and concerns that to a large extent define contemporary Swedish photography today. The illustrations of their work have been loosely included in this unique publication and can be removed and displayed separately.
